Goldfish Memory
From Ireland comes this fast-paced, sexy, and clever romantic comedy based on the premise that the experiences of goldfish (whose memory lasts only three seconds) are always fresh and exciting. Coincidentally, people also tend to forget, throwing themselves into each new romance with the same excitement as the first time (or last time) around. Take Angie and her circle of lesbian friends: Felicity and Sophie are no longer lovers, and Sinead is Felicity's new girlfriend. Emeron, who used to be Felicity's lover, is now in the process of breaking up with Jin. It seems that everyone is someone else's ex or ex's ex! Everyone is represented in this movie—gay, straight, and in between—and everyone is constantly falling in and out of love and starting all over again. Director: Liz Gill - Ireland/85 min/35mm

Poster Boy
We don't have to go far to find real parallels to the fictional story of Henry, the gay son of a conservative homophobic senator. The names Cheney and Schaffly easily come to mind. With his father running for reelection, "poster boy" Henry must confront his own homosexuality and his sudden affection for Anthony, a radical ACTUP activist, played with screen-stealing charm by Jack Noseworthy. The cast also includes Academy Award nominee Michael Lerner (as the Senator) in a role that transcends cliche, and Karen Allen as his put-upon, but not unsavvy, wife. Shot in striking verite style, first time director Zak Tucker presents an absorbing and timely drama about "family values." Director: Zak Tucker - USA/98 min/35mm
Admission: $10.00
Seniors & students with valid ID: $7.50

A film about one of the most controversial topics of our time: Was Hitler gay?
Hidden Fuhrer: Debating the Enigma of Hitler's Sexuality
There are long-standing rumors that Hitler was gay, and to shed some light on this hot potato, Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato (The Eyes of Tammy Faye and Party Monster) have come up with a provocative new documentary based on Lothar Machtan's explosive book, The Hidden Hitler. With archival footage and oral histories from survivors of that period, this chilling film explores the Fýÿhrer's unusually close relationships with men, his coolness toward women, and his associations with powerful men known to be gay. Was he or wasn't he? You'll have to decide for yourself. But at the very least, this fascinating film will give you plenty to ponder. Directors: Fenton Baily & Randy Barbato - USA/80 min/video
Panel discussion to follow. Panelists include: Harold Marcuse and Stephan Miescher, and Professors of History at UCSB. Invited guest: Fenton Bailey, Director
Admission: $6.00

Girl Play [Official Site]
Meet Robin and Lacie (of Camp Real Girls fame), cast in a play as lovers—and maybe falling in love for real. The question is: Should Robin leave her present girlfriend of a dozen years and their lackluster love life for the sexually charged Lacie, who, to put it kindly, has problems with commitment? Cutting from the two women's on-stage dialogue to sensually filmed sequences of them rehearsing their love scenes while their passion grows ever steamier, this edgy comedy follows Robin's heightening desire and the mounting tension on and off stage. What's a girl to do? From the director of the 2002 hit, The Ten Rules: A Lesbian Survival Guide. Director: Lee Friedlander - USA/90 min/video
Invited guests: Robin Greenspan & Lacie Harmon (Writers and Co-stars), Lee Friedlander (Director), Gina Goff & Laura Kellam (Producers)

Noah's Arc
A sexy romp that combines the best of Sex and the City with Queer as Folk, African-American style. The film focuses on a group of charismatic, incredibly handsome, and equally hilarious friends who constantly argue about relationships and sex, friendship and sex, marriage and sex, and adoption and sex. When they are not throwing zingers at each other, they are pondering who is straight and who is gay. Meet Noah, a struggling LA screenwriter who embarks on a love affair with the successful and just-out screenwriter, Wade. Alex, an HIV/AIDS counselor, is dating Trey, an anesthesiologist. Ricky is a playboy who owns a trendy clothing store on Melrose. Completing the circle of friends are college professor Chance and his partner Eddie, who brings a 3-year-old daughter to their new marriage. Just for spice, throw in Chance's sexy teaching assistant, Bryan; Romeo, a flamboyant fashion designer; and Dwayne, the hottie who clerks at Ricky's store, and you have the recipe for what promises to be a fab new series coming to your screen soon. Brother to Brother
We are proud to present one of the most highly acclaimed films of the year! With compelling skill, this outstanding film interweaves the fictional story of Perry Williams, a young Black painter in present-day New York, with the lives of Bruce Nugent, Langston Hughes (played by the charismatic Daniel Sunjata of Take Me Out and Six Feet Under), Zora Neale Hurston, and other figures of the Harlem Renaissance. Bruce's memories empower Perry in his own struggles with a homophobic family, his uneasy romance with a white lover, and his search for artistic honesty. Moving, insightful, and rich in historical detail, this film is a compelling drama and searing portrait of hard-won personal dignity. Winner of the Audience Award for Best Feature and the Jury Prize for Best Feature at the 2004 Outfest, Los Angeles. Director: Rodney Evans - USA/90 min/35mm
