Each Her Own
20-something Jess has married a nice young man who is enthusiastically preparing to be a father. The problem is, she's having a hot affair with Casey, a love-'em-and-leave-'em lesbian landscaper. A "nice girl" who's always managed to keep her life in control, Jess is forced to confront feelings that have long stayed dormant as she is drawn deeper into her Sapphic dalliance. Casey, in turn, finds that her cavalier approach to sex and dating is crumbling as she falls in love with Jess. Suddenly, a sobering truth is revealed and decisions need to be made which will indelibly define the future for all concerned. A tender love story agains the backdrop of a battle of allegiances equals a satisfying film experience. (Dir Heather Tobin 2008 Canada 106 min)9:00 pm – Midnight: RECEPTION

8:30 Tru Loved
In this delightful comedy Stewart Wade (Coffee Date, Outrageous 2006) covers a lot of ground with a deft hand--gay/straight alliances, cross-racial love affairs, mistaken gay identities and homophobia--as Tru, the liberated daughter of two mothers encounters life in small-town California (actually filmed in Agoura Hills). All is handled in a delightfully easygoing way that the average after-school special eschews. And, in the end, Tru actually finds true love. Bonus: This family-friendly film features appearances by Bruce Vilanch, Alec Mapa, A Different World’s Jasmine Guy, Best in Show’s Jane Lynch and David Kopay — the first openly gay professional athlete! (Dir Stewart Wade 2007 US 99 min)
Invited guests: Stewart Wade, director; Antonio Brown, producer; Najarra
Townsend. actress.
