4:00pm Outrage

A searing and unrepentant documentary that takes us into the (crowded) closet --and bathroom stalls-- of supposedly straight politicians who consistently vote down gay supportive bills. A movie that will truly make you outraged! Appearances by Barney Frank and Tony Kushner. From Academy Award Nominated director Kirby Dick. (Dir: Kirby Dick, USA, 90 minutes)

"DULY PROVOCATIVE, WELL-SOURCED" - Scott Foundas, Village Voice/LA Weekly

"A POWERFUL, DISTURBING AND SIGNIFICANT FILM." - Kenneth Turan, LA Times

"Incendiary" - Rolling Stone

Invited guest: Kirby Dick

7:00pm  I Can’t Think Straight

Lisa Ray and Sheetal Sheth, true world beauties, star as lovers negotiating the challenges of family and societal expectations. Tala (Ray) is a well-to-do Palestinian Christian and Leyal (Sheth) is a Muslim living in London with her Indian immigrant parents. Their love makes them tackle the big issues of religion, race and ethnicity. Director Sarif handles all with a deft touch that is guaranteed to delight all. (Dir. Shamin Sarif, UK, 82 min)

9:00pm Patrick, Age 1.5

What a difference a comma can make! Gay newlyweds Sven and Goran have it all (jobs, home, love.) To complete their perfect lives they plan to adopt a baby. Oops. Instead of a little bundle of joy, they get a homophobic teenager. Featuring lush cinematography and smorgasbord of slick Swedish design, this heartwarming movie via humor and honesty, teaches us something about real “family values.” (Dir. Ella Lemhagen. Sweden 103 min, in Swedish with English subtitles.)
